There are many numbers of reasons why people make additions to their property, and lack of space is just one of them. A growing family with expanding needs will greatly benefit from an extra bedroom or two, but you can also enhance the quality of your life by making a sunroom addition for entertaining and socializing, a kitchen addition to help with the extra cooking load during parties, and a spare bathroom addition for convenience. Besides, the resale value of your home can increase dramatically when you have more rooms for specific purposes.
Although additions to your home can enhance your property value, the best time for a home addition project is when you plan to stay in your property for few more years before selling it off. You can never be entirely sure of the ROI at the time of selling, so it's wise to enjoy your new room additions for a while before you consider placing it on the market. If ROI is the number one priority, consider kitchen basement and family room additions that offer the greatest return on investment. For instance, a new master bed room addition ranks lower down the line in terms of ROI, although it can greatly enhance your life style.
Additions to your property can give great value for money if you can find two or more uses for a single room. For instance, a custom sunroom addition can give you a space for entertaining and socializing with friends, and can also be used as a family room at the end of the day. You can also use your sunroom as a conservatory by placing potted plants and herbs, and also as a pool room. A bedroom addition can provide much needed private space if you have more than one child, while a garage addition can be used not just to park your car, but also as a work area to indulge in your hobbies and crafts.
I would like to convert a 2 car garage into a living room. This would include removing the garage door and adding a window and siding. Also, we would like to add a shower to the existing 1/2 bathroom. (we would need to extend the bathroom into the garage area by 4 feet to make room for the stand up shower)

I am interested in adding on to my home while in the middle of our rebuilding. My current home is 1632 sf. What I would like to do is add on to my kitchen and master bed room, both are in the back of the the home but on both levels (the home is a two story). Approx add on is 342 sf or a 9w x 23l. Can you please give me an estimated cost for labor, materials and if this includes plumbing and electrical. Thanking you in advance for your cooperation.
